"Commercial fraud and ways to prevent it"

Organized by Secret for Programming and in cooperation with Secret for Legal Consultations (SLC), gig | Arab
Orient Insurance participated in the workshop "Commercial fraud and ways to prevent it" on Saturday the 29th of
November 2014 at Jerusalem International Hotel.

gig | Arab Orient Insurance was represented by Mr. Khalil Khmous; Deputy CEO, and Mr. Husam Stephan; Senior
Officer - Quality Control, Compliance and Policies and Procedures. The company was invited to participate in the
workshop as it is one of the most important insurance companies in the Kingdom. This workshop also targeted
employees of banks and finance companies, managers of commercial and industrial companies, sales managers and
financial managers.
The participation of gig │ Arab Orient Insurance came in line with the company's eagerness to keep up with the latest
methods of fraud prevention and equip its employees with enough knowledge in this domain. This will in return
spare the company and its employees from becoming victims of such frauds. The workshop provided an adequate
explanation about the difference between financial and commercial fraud, and criminal fraud and the conse uents
of each of them. It also highlighted the methods used by phantom investment companies to defraud individuals and
organizations, and how to verify that their data is correct before dealing with them, as well as an explanation about
some related Jordanian laws and some examples about fraud stories in the Kingdom.
