participates in the Golden Jubilee of the
General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF)

gig | Arab Orient Insurance constantly makes sure to be present at all special events and is always eager to keep up with
the insurance markets, as a result, the company participated in the Golden Jubilee of the General Arab Insurance Federa-
tion (GAIF) – the 30th General Conference which was held this year in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, during the 1st to 5th
September, 2014.
The conference was attended by Mr. Isam Abdelkhaliq; CEO, Mr. Mustafa Melhem; Deputy CEO – Medical Insurance,
Customer Care and IT Departments, Mr. Yazan Khasawneh; Senior Director –HR, Branches, Bancassurance and Indirect
Businesses, Mr. Ahmad Abdo; Director – Business Development, Public Relations and Marketing Departments, Mr.
Rami Dababneh; Director – Key Accounts, General Claims and Motor Claims Departments, Mr. Tareq Ammary; Director
– Reinsurance, Underwriting and Engineering Departments.
It is worth mentioning that the conference was held under the golden sponsorship of the mother company Gulf Insur-
ance Group; and Fairfax; the main shareholder of Gulf Insurance Group along with Kuwait Projects Company (Holding)
(KIPCO).
The conference is held every other year at one of the Arab countries that are members of the General Arab Insurance
Federation (GAIF), where the general assembly of the General Arab Insurance Federation usually takes place as well as
the process of selecting the host country for the next session. It aims at exchanging experience within a number of insur-
ance and reinsurance companies, insurance brokers and reinsurance brokers, on both Arab and International levels,
which will keep them up with what's new in this industry, such as; new insurance products and details of the most
advanced programs.
At the sidelines of the conference, a number of meetings between companies were also held, which makes it the best
opportunity for them to sign agreements. The event included a one-day cultural program in line with the conference's
main theme, during which lectures and workshops are given by experts in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
