Achievements

• March 1996: gig | Arab Orient Insurance Company was established under the name of
 “Asharq Alarabi Insurance Company” as a limited liability company.
• July 2000: Acquisition by a group of investors headed by Jordan Kuwait Bank, the name
 was changed to Arab Orient Insurance Company.
• August 2000: Launching the first Bancassurance project in Jordan in collaboration with
 Jordan Kuwait Bank.
• November 2000: Establishment of the Medical Insurance Division and launching Crown
 Medical Program.
•May 2008: Fairfax Group, one of the leading investment companies of the world located in
 Toronto – Canada, acquired 22% of the company.
• March 2009: Launching the first Insurance E-services in the Arab World.
• June 2009: The first Jordanian Company to apply “Thomas Personal Profile Analysis
 System” in collaboration with “Human Capital Company”.
• 2009: Gulf Insurance Company-Kuwait purchased 88.6% of Arab Orient Insurance
 Company’s capital shares.
• September 2009: The Company’s capital was raised from JOD 11 to JOD 12.850 million.
• November 2009: The Company executed its geographical expansion of branches by
 launching its first branch in Aqaba followed by Sweifieh (Deir Ghbar) Branch in Amman.
• May 2010: The Company’s capital was raised from JOD 12.850 million to JOD 15 million.
• March 2011: The Company’s capital was raised from JOD 15 million to JOD 17.5 million.
• April 2011: The Company opened two new branches in Tla’a Al Ali and Al Abdali.
• September 2011: Started a partnership with Bupa International to provide clients with
 the best international medical insurance coverage worldwide.
• March 2012: The Company’s capital was raised from JOD 17.5 million to JOD 18.725
 million after the General Assembly Meeting.
• January 2012: The opening of a specialized center for Motor Claims in Al Bayader to
 ensure compulsory and comprehensive insurance service to the company’s clients.
• January 2013: Arab Orient Insurance company unified with Gulf Insurance Group,
 launched its new identity to become gig | Arab Orient Insurance The Company to speak
 one language and share the same values built on strong foundation and highly standards of
 insurance services across the region.
• June 2013: The Company’s capital was raised from JOD 18,725,000 million to JOD
 20,035,750 million.
• 2014: The Company’s capital was raised from JOD 20,035,750 million to JOD 21,438,252
 million after the General Assembly Meeting.
• 2015: The launch of a new branch in The Boulervard.
• August 2017: Motor Claims Center was transferred from Al-Bayader to 8th Circle
•October 2017: In line with the strategy of the mother company “Gulf Insurance Group” of
 unifying all the Group’s members under one common name, gig | Arab orient Insurance is
 now named gig – Jordan.
• November 2017: Tla’a Al Ali Branch was transferred from Tla’a Al Ali area to Mecca Street
